September Seminar We had an excellent turnout for our Michelin and Motul seminar. Jeff Reid from Michelin gave us a first look at a never before seen video of how tires are made that was very interesting. Ken Cotzen of Motul took us back to chemistry class to illustrate all the complexities of todays oils and other Motul products for motorcycles. Thank you very much to our presenters as well as everyone who attended.

Oil,tires and why they dont mix! Our 7th seminar of the season will be featuring Michelin Tires and Motul oil. Michelin will be represented Jeff Reid,long time tire guy and motorcycle enthusiast, who will explain how tires are made and how you can help your tires last as long as possible. Motul Oil will be presented by representative Ken Cotzen who just might have oil running through his veins. Ken is the authority on oil in the motorcycle industry and will give you all the details on why motorcycles need specific types of oil. Metropolitan traffic congestion is an ever-growing concern that perplexes most U.S. cities, frustrating urban planners and residents alike. Increasing the use of two-wheel transportation is a simple alternative to reducing traffic congestion that urban commuters face daily across America. For the growing number of residents living in metro Boston looking for the same solution to their in-town transportation challenges, switching to motor scooters is a very appealing option. However, with the switch, urban commuters sometimes find it difficult to locate designated parking areas, which prompted Boston to implement a motor scooter parking program modeled after successful efforts in other major metropolitan cities. On August 26, the city of Boston began executing a motor scooter and motorcycle on-street parking pilot program to better accommodate two-wheel commuting in the city. HD CONTRIBUTES 3.3million to MDA

The Harley-Davidson family of customers, dealers, employees and suppliers presented a contribution of $3.3 million to the Muscular Dystrophy Association Sept. 6 during the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon. The 2010 contribution marks the 30th year Harley-Davidson has supported MDA, and brings its cumulative fundraising to more than $76 million. Harley-Davidson Motor Company's Vice President, Channel Strategy and North American Sales, Jeff Merten, presented the check to the MDA on behalf of those who raised funds throughout this past year. "Today, what began as a charitable idea has become a much more personal journey," said Merten during the telethon broadcast. "This year, thousands upon thousands of members of the Harley-Davidson family gave their time, their love and their dollars to help fulfill the dreams of a brighter future for kids with muscular dystrophy." This weekend at the Newington Gallery we have first release prints of vintage Harley Davidson and Indian Motorcycles from the amazing 'Wheels Through Time' museum in Maggie Valley NC. The bikes are on loan to the Bascom c enter in Highlands NC and can be viewed in the main Gallery. The photographs are available this weekend at The Newington Gallery in Serenbe. The bikes featured include a 1925 Excelsior Super X, a 1933 Harley Davidson Flathead and a 1948 Harley Davidson Hummer. There is also a photograph of a rare 1953 Indian Chief.
