A 4 legged companion never begrudges spending the family budget on shiny pistons, rusted CraigsList finds, or short lived race rubber. He doesn’t mind eating chinese dog food for another month. He lies by your side when the asphalt snake bites you to the couch for a week. When the ‘ol lady is on your case for having different ‘goals’, it’s a comfort when the pup comes over and gives you a lick – saying, your goals are cool with me dad, live the dream. It’s easy to prove that a dog is man’s best friend, but they’ve also been known to literally crap all over our office, bite scoe’s belly fat, or bring buckets of dirt into the living room. For this we forgive them, and as they continue crunching melamine nuggets and distracting our wives, we promise to do better next time at Petsmart and go for a walk outside the oily garage this weekend.
